Valiant can provide a rodeo-styled wedding with a special Prairie Bridal ensemble, celebrating the American West. Men wear our specially selected rodeo and western shirts, hats, and boots with their own jeans. Western flags, banners, and hand-painted murals with western and Indian themes Square dance, anyone?
Attire for the men will be classic Western Wrangler-styled dark blue denim shirts, bandanas, cowboy hats, western vests and cowboy boots chosen for their unique designs. The groom can appear as the Town Sheriff, the Riverboat gambler, or other dashing personae.
Another style offers the prairie-settler style of clothing, with praire shirts, vests, felt hats, and gunslighter dusters.
Ladies attire can be the beautiful Indian Maiden gowns, the more modest prairie style, or 1860-80's ballroom style with poof organza sleeves and full skirts with crinolines.
We have an extensive collection of flute and drum music or Smokey Mountain dulcimer for the processional, or the soundtrack of wild and woolly romantic western musicals like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. We can help find entertainment for the reception, such as square dancing or Spanish dancers.
Go West, young man! And bring your bride! To American Indians, the thunderbird is the symbol of unending happiness. The American Indian theme is a meaningful and inspiring motif for a wedding, no matter your bloodlines. All North Americans have a natural bond with the early inhabitants of our continent. Our lakes, rivers, states, and towns bear tha names given by these ancient tribes. Valiant's Indian collection is specially designed for graceful fit and flexibility. You can almost hear the haunting flute and drum... For your reception, we have our fully draped and decorated Harvest Table and area decor, including Indian-themed murals. Our American Indian wedding is in development, but we are striving to learn the true traditions of various tribes. For instance, we're discovering eyewitness descriptions of weddings which tell us that traditional Indian wedding customs have almost disappeared. We're striving to reawaken some of them, like the sacred fire, the blanket ceremony, and the exchange of baskets with symbolic items. Real buckskin and doeskin clothing is rare, and so we depend upon soft facsimile fabrics until we have a chance to build a wardrobe of more authentic gear. Until then, we can offer our own designs in bridal attire, or the couple can rely on their own native families and contacts, while still making use of Valiant's impressive area decor for the wedding and reception, and our huge, fillly decorated Harvest Table. What you don't see on the website yet are our 8-foot tall handpainted murals depicting beautiful Indian motifs and symbols. We're hoping to gradually develop this wedding using more and more authentic native accoutrements, and are looking forward to working with our Native American clients, and anyone of any heritage who loves the beautiful Great Lakes Indian culture as we do!
